Registeration Rules
In order to proceed, you must agree with the following rules:

Registeration to Omani Society in Queensland is only allowed to Omanis who live/study in Queensland (Australia) at the current time. Any registeration which does not meet this requirement will be ignored without any notifications.

Discussions & Participation Rules

While the administrators and moderators of this site will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to this site express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

Written Discussions are conducted by way of writing words on the forum, which are read and seen by all members and non-members of the site. It is not held in a face to face situation, and not written to one person. When a person writes a topic or a reply to a person, he/she is as if talking to all members and non members of the site, who naturally come from different backgrounds and in both male and female genders. So when writing a topic or a response, one has to bear in mind that whatever he/she writes is written to all members and not one member. It is like conduction a presentation in front of a crowd of people who you might know or don’t know and again who come from different backgrounds and genders. It is therefore very important to consider the following rules before writing on this site.

Rules and conditions (Read Carefully):

  1. Do not assume that everyone on the forum would understand what you write.
  2. Be specific.
  3. Use a language understood by all.
  4. Use appropriate words, considering people from different genders and various backgrounds.
  5. Respect the views and ideas of other members; remember that the discussions are made for sharing views and solving issues and problems, not designed for pointless arguments, or to create hate between members.
  6. Do not use a language of a sarcastic character, degrading manner, or offensive to others.
  7. If you are posting a topic which may be sensitive to others, please specify the grade of sensitivity of the topic.
  8. Comment on others when you have good comments.
  9. You do not have to agree with others on what they say, however you must appreciate their point of view.
  10. Do not make jokes on other people’s comments, questions, views or topics.
  11. Remember that discussions are made for the instant and ease of communicating with other, assisting others with their problems, sharing views and ideas and more importantly creating brotherhood and strengthening relationship with others.
  12. You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws.
  13. As a member you agree to provide your first and last names, The University you are studying at, the date you complete your degree and your major to be public.
  14. As a user you agree to any information you have entered/will enter being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Consequences of violating the rules
Any member who does not abide to the above outlined rules and conditions will be subjected to the following:

  1. The message, post, or response which is against the above rules will be deleted straight away.
  2. A first warning will be given to the person who violates the rules.
  3. If a second attempt was made, the person will be banned from the forum.
  4. If the person does further violation, his/her membership will be withdrawn.
  5. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this site have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
